About Lamine Yamal

Lamine Yamal emerged through FC Barcelona’s famous La Masia academy before establishing himself in Barcelona’s first team while still a teenager. Barcelona confirmed Yamal as a first-team player wearing the No.19 shirt, a number previously worn at the club by recognisable names including Lionel Messi.

His rise with Spain has been just as remarkable. At UEFA EURO 2024, Yamal became the youngest player ever to appear at a European Championship, aged 16 years and 338 days. He then became the youngest goalscorer in EURO history when he scored against France in the semi-final at 16 years and 362 days.

Spain went on to beat England 2–1 in the final, making Yamal a European champion at just 17 years old. He was also named UEFA EURO 2024 Young Player of the Tournament, having produced four assists, the most at the tournament, along with one goal.
